I took a 2" cut and proceeded to wrap it tightly against the glass (starting at one end and 95% covering the glass with at least one layer).

I like my tubes always damped tight with as little a trace of microphonics as possible, myself (those other than 9 pin tubes that I don't have Herbie's fir I make a little Mortite tophat to damp the glass envelopes) . I like my tube amps to sound as solid state solid as possible, and as little like tube amps as possible.  I figure that some midway point is actually neutral

So, I like what it does because it's something other than tube microphonics that I like about tube amps.  Everybody is different in that regard - I've read of folks not liking their experience with the Herbie Halo's as it crushed the tube 'lifeforce' and such.

To each is own.  Nice thing about the fuse wrapping is that it is cheap, fast, and completely reversible  :thumb:

"I've read of folks not liking their experience with the Herbie Halo's as it crushed the tube 'lifeforce' and such."   that one I read also, probably keept me away from em to long, love mine--I don't feel at all like I lost the tube magic or what ever it is that I like about tubes.
