Cornet2 mono switch needs
« on: 21 Apr 2007, 09:28 pm »
It looks to me like the pre-specified mono switch MUST be the exact switch used if one of Jim's pre-drilled and screened enclosures is used. There just doesn't appear to be enough room for any other toggle to go into the pre-punched hole and still leave enought room to get to the cct. board contacts. I am aware I can just build without it for now, and go back later and add the switch for the mono feature.

Both Digikey and Mouser are out of stock. Any other sources out there that you get know of I should be checking out?? I'm not having much luck.

All leads appreciated!!

I subbed Digi-Key # 360-1791-ND for mine as the the 360-1159 has been replaced for RoHS compliance.

It works perfectly.

Yes, I also used a 360-1791-ND for my box/2 Cornet2, and it's a perfect fit. I'd like to go back to it though and see if the toggle can be rotated so that it goes up and down instead of left/right so it's angled toward the "mono" lettering when in that mode.

An interesting point as most switches of that variety appear to work in a north/south orientation as opposed to east/west.

I will consider doing that when I build my Cornet2.

Got it taken care of , Jim. I just picked up a sub-micro-mini toggle from the Shack, and it JUST clears the cct board, even oriented vertically. By the way...

I want to thank you for the extra bits you tossed in with my pre-fabbed enclosure. I used the pcb mount gold rca's you sent instead of the fancy ones I bought...again, because everything just screws togerther so easily when you stick with the original plan!  Right now I'm burning in the Auricaps by using a vaiable output FM tuners dialed down to a few mv.  After 24 hours I still dont have the sharp image focus of my current phono pre, but it is full of auricaps too, and it took nearly 100 hrs to sound right.
