I remember this guy.  I sat next to him in the room and felt he was rather pompous in his comments and opinions.  Frank was a true gentleman and did not stoop to his level, which he ultimately raised to Frank's gentlemanly status as the conversation continued.

Yes I heard him too! This gentleman was not the only, how should I put it, a-- I ran into. Frank made my feel at home and everyone else in the room when I was there. I would have liked to be there when Frank told the young lady about the old rope he was using for cables! :smoke:

I met James for the first time as well. He seamed like quite the gentleman to me.

Funny...I was the only one in the room with Frank at the time. I have pictures. I have talked to Frank MANY times since then via phone & email. I respect him greatly. I thought my comments from RMAF reflected that. People read into things what they want, I guess.

I was there for that. I had never met Frank before, didn't even know what he looked like. I thought, "This old codjer's gonna scare away all the customers, with that rope talk." I finally figured out what was going on and then the whole vibe changed. The old codjer is Frank! Meeting him for the first time he was funny, warm and approachable, yet totally devoid of bullshit. In a word - REAL. I asked him a question about tubes v. ss and he gave me a straight answer that was not angled to sell more of his products.  I admire him so much for that, because anyone else I ever asked just spewed BS or didn't know what I was talking about. Now I'm in need of a (tube) preamp and T8 will be auditioned with a strong bias. There is more to it than just the technology, though. After meeting him, now I want to have a creation of this artist in my home.

I thought that Frank's little (25w?) stereo tube amp and T8 pre had the most whole and satisfying sound of his RMAF demo. When I heard that, I knew that Frank is indeed a talented audio designer and knows what a music listener wants.
