As an OPPO dealer and owner, I was very happy to see this is finally getting closer.

Yes - I saw the news and it should be nice.  I just broke down about a week and a half ago and bought a PS3 for the secondary basement system and figured it would let me get a chance to play with Blu-Ray and perhaps use the other PS3 media capabilities.  I was hoping that perhaps around CES they would have one and I was glad to see the news as I'd like a top notch video source for the main system.

John,

Looks very interesting.  I'm in no rush to purchase Blu-ray because I am very content with my current DVD player and 34" CRT HDTV.  I'll going to wait atleast another year until I get a Blu-Ray player.  One thing that bothers me is the small number of Blu-Ray disc available at rental locations or on-line.

Best,

John

I like my Newcastle SD-860, but if the Oppo does include DVD-Audio support this will probably push me into the Blu-Ray world.

Yes that model NewCastle and its big brother the 871 were good "spacers" and even as late as they were to market, they still were ahead of their time.

I never got a chance to "compare" the OPPO with my SD 860, but I do recall it "sounding" excellent :thumb:
