Dear Hyperion’s owners and music lovers ,

Some time ago, I try the bookshelf from Hyperion, the HWS 586. I used the dac and drive from Stello and a tube amplifier (Audiomat Opéra Reference) from my main system to drive them. The result was not deceptive at all. In fact, the result exceed my expectations and I quickly fall in love.
I am now searching a more affordable amplifier to drive the 856 for my second system. I have tried some digital amplifier, like Trends with good result, but was not totally convinced. I would rather search for a more powerful solid state amplifier. Did anyone try for exemple a Marantz PM 15 or an Arcam FMJ A 192 with the Hyperion ?
I love classical music  but I like to hear every good music  (world music, jazz ...)
Any of your suggestion, any of your experience will be welcome .

For the last several months I paired the HWS 586 monitors with a Ming-Da MC34-B integrated tube amp (22wpc) to listen to jazz and classical chamber music, and thought it was an excellent match.

Did you try too some solid state amplifiers ?

My buget at the very most may be 2000-2500 $.
I live in France, so some american products may be hard to find .

Well, you may be able to find Hyperion's own tube monoblock in that price range, if the dealer is willing to offer a little discount as most dealers do.  Also try http://pacificcreek.com/index.php .  I heard their 50 watt integrated amp (P90I) works very well with the 938s, so I think it will work well with other Hyperion speakers.  It sells for around $1600 USD and you get 30 day free trial, but not sure if this applies to international buyers.
