I don't believe there are any. It was designed to be more of a full range design for small rooms and we have not moved a lot of them compared to all other models.

I would say the single reson the AV4 has not a large seller,
Is the cabinet is a little complex for the average builders.

That and the price of the kit.

I can sell three A/V-3 kits and a pair of A/V-1's for $645 (quantity discount).

That's still $150 less than the A/V-4's. It's those 12 inchers and the 3 way crossover that really add up.

Granted I've never heard an A/V3 or A/V4 ... but I bet the A/V4 sounds a lot like my MTMWW I just completed.  It's essentially an A/V3 for the MTM and 2 M-165x actively crossed at 200hz for the WW.

Dynamics, detail, huge soundstage while maintaining pinpoint imaging ... all those are traits of the MTMWW I made.  I bet a big part of that is the M-130 drivers not having to reproduce bass, and in that respect the A/V4 should be similar.

Correct me if I'm wrong Danny,  but it sure seems like the M-130 excel in this appication.

They are competing directly with the OB-5 model, which has generated a lot more buzz.

I have been considering which speaker to build, also. I listen to two channel only in a 15 x 17 room. My impressions are that the A/V-3 is a good place to start, considering my woodworking skills, but the OB-5 is where I want to end up with better transparency, detail and sense of space. The A/V-4 with a Neo tweeter also seems like a good choice, with the added benefit of great bass extension and smaller size.

I wonder how a Neo equipped A/V-4  would sound compared to the OB-5, or standard A/V-4?

I can tell you that the A/V-3 mated with Danny's speaker cables are quite impressive.  I just added a SW-12a sub to my A/V-3 as well.  I am a really happy camper and I have listened to many more expensive kits in audio stores before deciding to build these.  I wonder if Danny ever compared an A/V-3 pair with SW-12a sub versus an A/V-4 pair but I would sure like to ear that.

I'd take the A/V-3 and the separate sub.

I have ... and like danny mentioned earlier, the cost of the kit was the stumbling block for me.
For less than that price, i could get an OB-5 or pay a wee bit more and get a OB-7.
When i heard the AV-4, the drivers were still not broken in, so it won't be fair on my part to
comment on it.

really? US$645 for five speakers, which should beat the ascend 340ce in HT setup. nice...if only i knew how to build speakers.
