I have one that I built about 6 months ago. They sound Great  especially with a solid state power amp, they are simple to build with complete and easy instructions even if you have never used a soldering iron before.

that's good to hear.  I have a Pass Labs X-250 amp.  I also use a X-1 pre amp.  how will it compare to the X-1?

I know someone who did have a foreplay (don't think it was the III as it was around 2 1/2 years ago when he built it) it was okay. He'd also put together a set of their mono amps. It was easy to build and he enjoyed it for a while (until we all got passive autoformers from intact audio)

I built the standard version Foreplay III.  I also have a Version 2 that is about three years old.. They are fun to play around with, I run them between a Yamaha DSP 1000, Marantz MM9000 and Adcom 5002 Power amp.

I believe an OD3 is a gas voltage regulator tube.

Doc makes great stuff!  We have built a number of their kits with
excellent results...

Good instructions too!
