External fuse replacement help?
« on: 11 Feb 2007, 03:55 am »
I need help locating the IEC or external fuse location.
Unit is Odyssey Stratos Extreme
It was working and somehow the internal fuses blew. I pulled off the top cover and all four fuses had blown. I replaced them and then the external blew when I turned it on again.
Can anyone provide me with instructions and actual location and removal for  the external fuse :dunno:

there is one inside the plastic piece that the power cord plugs into-

take a close look and you will see ,just pop the cover-

For anyone looking for the external IEC fuse replacement. Disconnect powercord.
You have to take a small blade screwdriver and insert into the IEC black plastic receptacle and push down on the tab or tongue like part of the piece. When it comes loose you then have to pull down with your other hand and pry out of the holder.

Pretty slick 8) Once it is out you can see that the fuse is held in with the spare tucked into its own little holster.

Well, after finding that it was blown as well I checked the internal ones again to make sure they were OK and put the unit back into my rack. Put on the PC,IC's and powered back up. No power, no Blue light, no soft start. Checked with a different PC and no luck. There was no powersurge or problems with any other components.

Checked the manual and I'm out of options so left call to Klaus
