What is a XRCD24 ? Sara K "Heck or High Water"

Is it a CD? If so, what does the 24 mean?

Has anyone heard the XRCD version?  Anyone heard the CD layer of the Hybrid SACD?  My set up does not work well for SACDs and I am always leary that the CD layer of a Hybrid is an after thought and not up to the quality of a CD-only release.

I have the Water Falls CD and I think the quality is excellent.  What keeps my money in my wallet on the "He.. or High Water" release is the format(s).

Last question (for now) does anyone know where to buy the XRCD besides the crazy German Stockfish site?  CD-Baby only has the Hybrid SACD.

Its a cd....you can play it in your player....read the Info link...
I have a few XRCD's...they sound good.
I've not heard this Sarah K. release....but its on a small label....so the price's will be high.

As for SACD Hybrids....I've had no trouble playing them in my players....got a few classical one's....and a few Rolling Stone's copies. Good luck... :thumb:

Thanks for the great info link on XRCD24.

I can play the SACD layer of a Hybrid on one player I have and the CD layer on another player I have.  I have never been impressed by the sound of either compared to the just-plain-old-ordinary-red-book-CDs (JPOORB-CDs) I have.  :(
