Has anyone seen this very funny but also serious movie?     I believe Wes anderson was one of the co-writers

I saw this film about a year ago....I remember liking it quite a bit. The acting was superb!

Check the Wes anderson films ( Rushmore, Royal tenenbaums etc.)   they seem  lame at first but really get you somehow ( black comedy)

Hey, that film looks very good!  I've heard about Todd ( director) before     

Other (obvious) movies are ,  Donnie darko ,  the big lebowski (any coen brother film) ,  Ghost world, Mean creek.....

i loved this movie, especially the part where jesse eisenberg's character tries to pass off "hey you" by pink floyd as his own song for a talent show.

Bought it and just watched it,  WOW       Looks and sounds like a typical hollywood film,  but the dialogue and acting is really unpredicatble !       Thanks for the suggestion,  this is one to watch over and over again

Glad you liked it. I've also watched "Welcome to the Dollhouse", but didn't like it as much. Todd Solondz has directed a couple of movies since "Happiness", but I haven't seen them. They're on my watch list.

Wasn't to impressed with this movie. The dialog was good  but the plot never grabbed me. For anyone interested in a movie with excellent dialog amongst characters check out The Big Labowski. John Goodman is hilarious!!!  Sorry... mentioned earlier.
