Where does stuff like this come from?  I'm guessing Bubba would know.  Is this Asian pirated stuff?  They sell it openly, so maybe it's a "legit pirated" edition?

Yes, those are Asian bootleg DVD's...

Most likely taken from the last LD pressings on 11/2000. Though possibly taken from the legit VCD release in Asia.

There's still no legit copies of the trilogy on DVD anywhere. Legit VCD's yes. But the LD's are still the best copies available.

Throwing out the question of the quality of the discs, it can't be legal to sell them, can it?  I mean pirated is pirated, no?  You'd think George would have his gorillas over there crackin' heads!

I personally think it depends on if you own a copy of them on VHS.  It would seem to me that if you own one copy of a movie then you should be able to purchase a pirated copy on another format.  I am currently in the process of taking a downloaded version of the movies and copying them over to DVD.  Doesn't look as good as LD but it only costs me some time and 6 bucks.  I own them on VHS but I do not have a VCR.
