Snow Storm and shipping
« on: 21 Dec 2006, 02:46 pm »
The Colorado area has been hit with what is being called a Holiday Blizzard.

There is very little movement on any of the streets. The major highways into and out of Denver are closed. Most flights into and out of DIA are canceled.

I have finished up most of the mods and orders that have come in on Monday and Tuesday.

Unfortunately, there is no way to get them out to the people who have ordered them.

The storm is supposed to abate this afternoon. I will try to get some things out to the Post Office. I don't think there will be much in the way of deliveries until after the weekend.

I will try to get all orders out as soon as the roads open up.

Happy Holidays.

I saw on the news that the Post Office is closed today, their spokesman said there was just no way for most of their employees to get to work. They said they're considering working Sunday.

Thanks for the update, Mike.

I guess I will just sit here and smell solder fumes all day  :?

Maybe try to convince my teenagers to do some physical work moving snow around

Bill,

I still haven't figure out how to make MY teenagers do any "real" work around here.

I have spent most of the last two days moving snow. We had at least three feet of snow across our triple car driveway. The snowplow came though and buried the sidewalk with about four feet.

I cleared out the driveway and half of the sidewalk today. Then I spent over three and a half hours driving the wife and kids around.

My wife picked up her car from the hospital.

While the major highways are clean and dry, all the side streets are a challenge for a two wheel drive vehicle.

Hopefully the plows will come through the residential sections tomorrow and the sun will start melting some of the snow.

I now have over six feet of snow piled up in my front yard from the shoveling. I will try to take and post some pictures tomorrow.

I will also ship out all the PS and SB mods I have on hand. Sorry for the delay

How's storm number two treating you Wayne?  I flew out of Denver late on Wed. night in order to avoid this one and be stuck.  The first one treated me well in Keystone, Copper, and A-Basin though.  It made for some killer back bowl and bump skiing :thumb:

Lots more snow!!

I was semi-smart and started shoveling during the storm. I must have been out 4 times yesterday and twice today.

I went out earlier to ship the last package of this year. The streets are snow packed and that is good news. No trouble getting around and most people are staying home.

I am just now shoveling out my kids' cars. My daughter is lounging around watching TV and baking dog biscuits.

My son is too involved with playing WOW to actually do anything like physical work  :nono:

We gave him a 2nd 19" monitor for his computer so now he plays WOW, is on Myspace and IMs all at the same time.

His phone died, so he got an early birthday present of a Sidekick 3. So while he is doing all of the above on his computer he also texts away.

I don't know how I survived my teen years without all of those goodies

Gotta give props to Wayne on getting stuff to USPS today. I received a ship notification and I didn't even order anything! How's that for service. :D

Thanks Wayne, I'm guessing these are the binding posts we talked about a while back. :thumb:

The last round of snow has slowed deliveries to a halt. I have not received any UPS shipments for a few days now.

USPS still seems to be arriving within a decent time frame.

Mondays is a holiday for all delivery services and Tuesday has been declared a National Day of Morning for former President Ford. USPS will not be delivering anything until Wednesday.

I appears that the shipping services will be playing catch-up for a couple of weeks after the snow has melted away.

Please be patient. I anticipate be hit with all the SBs and power supplies at once. It will take me a little bit of time to work my way through them.

Mike,

You hopefully will be getting a belated Christmas gift in the mail today.
