Mechanical Crossover Durability

I hope to buy a pair of Thiels in about 1.5 to 2 years. I have loved the way every pair I have listened to sounded, but am somewhat sceptical about the durability of their new mechanical crossover in the tweeter/midrange driver. Will the material last? Will it change the sound or xover frequency as it degrades or wears? Any thoughts on this topic would be much appreciated.

You should probably contact Thiel directly and inquire as to how long they will warranty their drivers for. This would give you some idea of the durability of their design. Anything else is idyl speculation with no factual basis.
