It appears Linar Audio has expaned its offerings of amplifiers and a new preamplifier. I'm particularly interested in the Class A offering for $3995.

"Matched JFet input Transistors"

That is a good thing IMO.  :thumb:  JFETs have a lot less capacitance (reactance) and therefore are much easier to drive with tube preamps than the bog standard bipolar inputs.

I have always been curious about the person behind a well designed product. Victor Sima the designer behind Linar Audio has a long history of design experience behind him. He was the chief designer responsible for the success of Sim Audio. He sold Sim Audio in 1995 and has improved upon his designs with Linar Audio. I was pleased that I had an oppurtunity today to speak with him about his new designs. He felt that his new designs have advantages over other solidstate and tube offerings from other companies. He mentioned that his amplifiers are designed with Mofset Resisters in the output stage and Zero Negative feedback with a frequency response up to 1Mhz. He stated that increasing the frequency response from 250,000hz while with Sim Audio to 1Mhz with Linar Audio offers more information and better sound. Further, he stated that not using negative feedback into the input stage allows a truer representation from the source. Mr. Sima doesn't think that there are any amplifiers at $3995 that competes with what he is offering.

Victor Sima now sells direct from Montreal Canada and seems very happy doing so. He stated that many people in Montreal know about Linar Audio and he has a huge following there. He staed that he isn't necessarily interested in doing alot of advertising in the US. He stated advertising was expensive and way too political for him at his stage in life. United Audio is the only US representation he has in the US. He stated if any US dealers were interested in his products, he would not have any problem having dealers in the US.

Sounds like another amplifier I'd like to try.
