Batttery Power for DEQX?
« on: 11 Dec 2006, 03:17 am »
Vinnie, the DEQX 2.6P provides both pre-amp and room correction functions. If it could be converted to battery power one could use the battery powered Olive Musica as a source, the DEQX for preamp and room correction, and your Sig 30 or 70 for amplification and be totally off the grid. The DEQX requires both +15 VDC and -15 VDC. Would this be a practical modification?

Hi PLMONROE,

Besides the +15V and -15V dc, I'm sure that there are quite a few other voltages used by the DEQX (perhaps 5V, 3.3V, 2.5V, and others).  I'm not saying it cannot be modified for battery power, but it would take some time to figure out the requirements (voltages, current draw, etc.).

Unfortunately, *time* is one of those things I wish I had more of these days

Best regards,

Vinnie
