Last year, I listened to both, in different settings with different equipment, however. The rooms were of similar size with treatments.

To me, the 926 has a slightly more forward presentation with more detail, dynamics, and resolution around the mids and highs. A truly great listening session as I had not listened to JM Labs in a few years. I played a few Enya tracks where the music seemed like it was coming from everywhere, not just infront of me, spacious and great soundstaging I would say.

The JR was equally impressive, but with a warmer, laid back sound. A musical speaker that can be listened to forever. The bass went lower as well. Similar tracks on the JR were both warmer sounding, while not quite having the same spacious quality as the 926.

Going with the 936 may be equal to the bass response of the JR.

Your system will be the indication of which speaker may be better for you.

Good luck :green:
