I have them, I just put them on last night, as a matter of fact.  They are exactly the same as the "stock" bases except the bottom board (the part that physically contacts the floor) is about an inch wider all around.  I think the new base looks sweet.  It increased my bass response too, probably by giving the 40's more stability.

Tyson, is it easy to replace the stock base plate with the new one?  My 40's have the old, non-oversized base plate, but I'd be interested in replacing it since my 7 month old is starting to walk and I have a curious maine coon cat that weighs well over 20 lbs.  Also wouldn't mind the extra bass output.

Down the line I hope to upgrade to the RM/X, looks like it already incorporates the larger base plate (at least on the prototypes shown at CES).

It was a bit of a pain to replace.  The old screw holes didn't line up w/the new screw holes.  Luckily Brian provided some very long, hefty wood screws, so I just used a bit of force and created my own new screw holes.  Plus, the new base plate did not quite fit in the "groove" that the old base plate rested in.  I"m pretty sure I don't have to worry about air leak (and I don't feel any air leak from around the new base), but I'm going to use some silicon sealant on the interior of the base anyway.
