Detailed Info:

12noon - 6pm ish (or later) ?
1604 Ridgmar Boulevard
Fort Worth, Tx
From Downtown FW, head west on I-30.
Exit Right/north at Ridgmar Boulevard exit
1st driveway on left side past Genoa (residential neighborhood).
817-569-9315 (home)
817-763-4272 (work)

lunch will be "ad-libed" catered depending on body count - I'll put out a penny jar for contributions.

I'll have a combined Home Theater/5-channel SACD/2-channel rig in the HT room. Your challenge is to tame the brightness. (I've invested in everything except not-so-bright gear and decent room treatments).  (tubish?) DACs and warmish amp would be highly appreciated.

The Living room will be available for any 2-channel rig. BYO gear. I don't have much in the way of extra interconnects/speaker cables.

And if 35 people wandered in like the last time, I'll convert a bedroom into another 2-channel room. Body count is approx. eight (8) so far.

BYOB (that way, I won't have to stock up anytime soon after the jam).

RSVPs appreciated but that won't stop last minute folks from coming.

oscar, you'll have to restock if we drink it all up
what length speaker cables and interconnects do you need in the main rig?
do you have a set system for the secondary system yet?
get a hold to whoever brought over the small jm labs floorstanders for the other gtg and have him bring them.

Main rig uses 8 ft speaker cables, 2.5m XLR IC (w/Cardas RCA-XLR adapter for Dodd Preamp), 1m RCA IC - All Kimber Select hybrid or silver.

There is no secondary system (that's where everyone else's gear comes in). I could cannabilize one from the surround/rear channel components in the main rig (rear speakers/rear amp/2nd SACD/CD player/cabling/Meitner preamp) though I'd rather not. Secondary system would go in main living room (20 x 27).

I am curious how the BPT stacks up against my Sound Applications Reference Linestage PC but I think that kind of comparison could take weeks to properly accomplish. Besides, Dodd's preamp doesn't need it.

I don't have a clue who brought the speaker stands (faulty memory banks) the last time.

Guys (and gals if there are any),

I hate to bail at the last minute, but I have a client meeting that morning, and I'm not sure how long it will go.  If I get done in time, I'll swing by, as I'd like to meet ya'll.  Thanks

Change of plans - I'm able to make it, and plan on being there.  I'm looking forward to it, and I'll bring some gear and software.

Lots of fun, Oscar, and thanks!  Good luck getting your gear issues resolved!

Marvin, I take it the Belles was well received?

Strangely enough, the "equipment issues" went away the next morning.  Go figure.  Must have been the EMI being emitted by the Belles. :P

Looks like maybe additional tube-rolling might be helpful (using Mullards ?) but I'm going to revisit ICs also since I'm short a "quality RCA pair" anyway.

Anyway, I'll be interested in a shoot-out between preamps again in after an appropriate break-in time.
