Hello Audiocircle,

China here, opening soon with "Ming Yi Audio" in Changsha, Hunan, Peoples Republic of China. Have some lines of tubed equipment by Shuguang Audio and Pir-Audio. Try www.shuguangaudio.com and www.piraudio.com for a look at the photos and specifications.
My computer ability to download photos is nil. Did so with help from a member of Audiocircle before with the DT 300 amplifier. The Shuguang is mid priced electronics and Pir-Audio is a little known high end manufacturer located in China. Check it out and get a little taste of heaven.
There are some listings on the site AudioXsell for prices and specifications. Also carry Dussun and Jungsun, but Dussun is restricted sales and more or less for the Jungsun with the exception of a couple of items that are made for the United States market and of course Jungsun loudspeakers.
Carry DEQX and Analysis Audio Products. In process for Linn and Thorens at end of month will know for sure.
Getting ready to take on "Grand High" loudspeakers.(No!! We are not even going down that road in reference to "Grand High") They have a monster that is over seven foot tall and each speaker weighs over eight hundred pounds. Plus the product line is rather unique and the speakers sound great in home theater or other wise.
I was hoping to post my "Ming Yi Audio Website", but the university student that is/was/maybe designing the site for me. He went out and fell in love or something along that line!! Not good for me but maybe we were young once ourselves. So who can blame him??
Have a line or two on Chinese LCD's and Plazma's, 42" to 60", from $1,250 to $3,350 basic prices. Little add ons add on the price. All items are plus costs for shipping, handling and customs if needed?

As always, all the best! From China!

Just want to relate that Thankgiving is something that few in China know anything about. American Thanksgiving that is. Part of the trade offs of living in China. First there is no stove as an American would know of it. Everything here is cooked on a "wok" and they use two burners. Make do with that or don't.
It took the better part of the day to find a place that was having thanksgiving lunch/dinner. I called at least seven four or five star hotels here in Changsha at the beginning of the month. Received NO!! From everyone. Thought I was out of luck! Finally hit paydirt!!
The best hotel in Changsha is having a buffet with turkey that day!! Color me happy!! Just to have turkey. Even though "best" means "expensive"!!
Another thing that is not here in reality is good old fashion "pizza". There is "Pizza Hut" but it is somebodies idea of what pizza should be here in China!! If Pizza Hut was dog food in the United States. Then this is what comes out of the dog after the dog has eating, here in China. Not trying to be offensive to Pizza Hut lovers, but, that is just my opinion. I do my own pizzas on an outdoor grill, sometimes good sometimes waste of time and effort. Just have not got it down but getting better.
To show the struggle here in China for example. I asked for a can opener and "Honest to God" the reply was. "What is a can opener??" You cannot even buy canned vegetables or tomatoes on the open market. I am supplied through a market warehouse by the name of "Metro". Has the basics but is not easy for all the imported food items are not cheap.
What is a pizza without mozzarella, provolone, fiordilatte cheeses, salami, pepperoni, Italian sausage, certain hams such as coppa, or for that matter just good old hamburger, ground round. Not readily available. Plus rice flour sucks when it is used to make a pizza dough. Good old "Betty Crocker" to the rescue. A simple thing like "yeast", it is a nightmare. Time after time until I got one that finally worked. All in all it is a struggle but then that is what makes it taste so good!! When it is right!!
That my friends,to me, is what "Thanksgiving" is all about! Being able to celebrate this traditional feast in the comforts of your homes and not wanting?? I just would like to say that " I wish you all the best and enjoy the holiday."

As always, From China

Just a quick update!!  Went to this five star hotel for lunch of the turkey menu!!!  No Turkey for lunch only Dinner!!!  Bummer as was prepared to eat!!
Went shopping on a street/boulevard in Changsha!! Another Bummer!!  I could not afford to even look in the stores the prices were high! But! So were the clothes!! Imported from Paris!! Not knock offs!!  Wife liked but did not buy!! Bless her!!  Bought from street vendors!! Great!! Knock offs but cheap!! Five pair of woman's socks and knit gloves for under a couple of dollars. Did some more window shopping as always seem "not to have enough money"!! Who doesn't?  Off to another part of town to do some shopping?  Bought some little things. A little portable heater for my wife!!  She takes a "French Class" on the weekends. The class rooms are unheated and it is cold at this time of year!! So the Princess gets a little portable heater that will fit into a backpack one of those special heaters that will heat a room in no time. I think she will become the most popular student in the class!!
Back home with the other little things! Plus the dogfood!! No! Not Chinese Pizza Hut Pizza!! But real dog food for my pet, a border collie, that I have had since it or he was a little puppy. I thought that it would be easy to train a border collie!!  Yea!! He has me trained real well!! Either he is the smartest dumbest dog or dumbest smartest dog in the world!! Take your pick!! But loyal!!  Sort of!!  If you have some food in your hand he is your best friend and he has the begging act down to a science!!  No more food no more dog!!
Well!! After going back home and testing the portable heater and the "Princess" taking her afternoon "nap". I listened to some "Cheap Trick" "Love You to Love Me" "Don't Be Cruel" (becoming a favorite), "Arvo Prat", talk about a change of pace!! Wow!!, and "Holst" "The Planets", just always liked!! Hey! It's a free world!! Sort of!! Anyway!!
The Princess is up and we are off!! Across town in the taxi!!  Do not even think of driving in Changsha!!  You would not ever believe it!!  Why there are not bodies everywhere is amazing!!  It is an experience!!  We arrive!! Goodness!! There is a Chinese Hostess that is so stunningly beautiful!!!  Oh! My! God!!  Of! Course!!  I am with the most beautiful woman in the world!!  So!! There is no comparison!! Smile!! Finally!! Turkey!! Well, it was turkey as promised, but only just Turkey!! No other fixings that are associated with the bird, no stuffing or anything special. But!! Shoot!! The bird was good!! Plus there is a buffet and you just help yourself to everything that there is. All types of meats, prepared in the Chinese way. Soups, salads, sort of lean of the veggies. But they have a Chinese barbecue, where they bring different meats right to your table. Squab, hams, pork, beef, bacon-much different than processed bacon in a supermarket package and the list goes on and on. It just keeps coming and as soon as your plate is empty. Another clean plate and more food and more food and more food. You get up! Go to the serving tables and pick out what you want or would like to try and back to the table where you are sitting. No wine though, as a alcoholic brother cured me of this!!! But plenty of fruit  juices, orange, apple, strawberry, so on and so forth. Not many people, some people from India or Pakistan, a American Family with four children, unusual as the Chinese are limited to one child, now! Four Chinese, two couples. Four French!! Again two couples. Couple of Chinese business men, doing business all night long while playing at eating. The Princess and me. Pleasant way to spend two hours. There are more Chefs and wait people than there are customers. When done!! Waddle out of there!!! Catch a cab and back to "Fu Rong Yuan". The name of the complex that has to two thousand condos in it, where we live!! A small city within a big city of seven million people, Changsha. Well!! That was my "Thanksgiving" and it was special as this was the first with the Princess. As always, all the best, From China.
