Louis. How about designing a Hemptone subwoofer that can go very low (20Hz), move some air and mate well with the Omega lineup?

I just got in a set of 8" sub drivers with TT cones. They are overbuilt and I will try them out. I was also leaning toward a 12" pro driver. This won't be a true sub , but will have some slam and will be pretty fast.

Thanks again,
Louis

Not easy to do.  You know the triangle rule?  In the corners of a triangle you have efficiency, small size, deep bass...pick any two and you can't have the third.  In order to 'keep up' I am assuming you need some efficiency...if you want 20hz with that you will need a *HUGE* sub.  If you only want extention but not flat to 20hz then that makes it a bit less huge, but still quite large.

I guess you could go with a 12" servo sub like this...http://www.rythmikaudio.com/servo_product.htm
Smooth response to 20hz and below. aa

Hi,

JoshK is right and have very low bass output it will need a lot of box. Servos do work and a Rajacat is right as well. For me I would be more interested in making a bass augmenter that will blend with the speakers which is also very hard to do. The main problem is getting the right electronics made and this costs a lot. At this stage I would rather spend it on the speakers.

Thanks again,
Louis
