DIY corner trap like Echo Buster triangle corner?
« on: 22 Nov 2006, 04:12 pm »
Hi,
I am thinking of DIY the corner buster  like the one in Echo Buster and i was wondering if anyone has tried it? Any instruction would be greatly appreciated. I have 2 OC fiberglass left , therefore i would like to try it to see it really makes any improvement in my room. I can't put another bass trap up to the ceiling...:)

thanks.

did you ever try this?? strange no one ever responded- I hope that didn't deter you.  Love to hear if there were any differences as I have a little OC left over from some bass traps.

You'll need a little more 703 to do anything effective - unless you want to try to just do Tri-Corners.  Sorry for missing the original post.

Bpape, do you mean that i need at least 4" thick for the triangle trap?

Currently, i have 2 4" thick traps in the corners behind the speakers and 2 6" thick traps in the corners behind my seat. I could not put another panel on top of the current ones due to several factors. That's why i'm thinking of DIYing the corner like the one i see echo buster.

Also, i look at GIK website, and the triangle trap is interesting. Is it solid inside the trap?

thanks.

Not a true corner trap, but one of four I built for my 2 channel room after purchasing 703 from Bryan.  There is 6" in each moveable trap.  (hopefully the photo will load)

Can't get the image, so how about a link then:

4" if straddling.  If you want to do a solid chunk, then you can get 16" of height for a 17x17x24" solid triangle from each 2" 2'x4' pc of 703.

The GIK Tri-Traps are filled solid inside so at it's deepest point it's approximately 12" deep.  The material in those is a higher density than 703.
