This should teach me. I bought a pair of DHLabs silver air matrix ic's; paid 40$ Hurray! well...no, they sounded weird. Turned them the wrong way round (arrow to source), sounded better. Mystified wrote to DH labs. Apparently someone bought cable and terminated themselves. Ok they were cheap but I'm pissed off.

BUT I think "he" was too dumb or impatient; according to manufacturer "Those are not our connectors. Someone else terminated them. You will have to remove the barrels of the RCA's to see which end the shield was connected. The White wire should go to the center pin. Black wire should go to ground. Drain wire (shield) should also go to ground but only at one end." I can find no sign of a drain or shield. I want to redo these. Anyone got a pair and willing to undo the barrel and tell me or send me a picture of what I should be seeing? I'd greatly appreciate it. The DH labs people have run out of patience or something, and have stopped
answering me. Thanks. Moral: look twice and ask awkward questions before buying.
