To all VMPS users,

I was considering the purchase of a pair of Speaker level purifiers with "bybee inside" to use with my RM40 speakers.  My RM40s have every option that is currently available (TRTs, Supermax OXO, etc..).  I am just curious about how these would sound with the ribbon drivers.  Has anyone used them in the past or currently using them?  If so could you please comment on any sonic improvements?

Thank you,

John

John,

I have silvers on the tweeters and  large regulars on the neos.  I installed them just before the ribbons on the plus side.  I have large regulars on the return just before the binding posts.  The sound is clearer and smoother.   I think they would benefit more for those using ss amps on the ribbons.  One thing to consider is that I got more out by adding diffusion in my room than Bybees for the money. I would spend the money on room treatment before putting Bybees in.  IMHO, you will get more out of these tweeks if your room will resolve the difference.

FWIW, the system used at RMAF this past weekend had lot of Bybee purifiers in it.

I fed the signal to the RM-30M external crossover through a pair of the speaker level purifiers I build.

The Response Audio Bella EXtreme 3205 amp had a pair in the AC supply and in the input circuit.

The SB2 I used for most of the demos on Saturday and Sunday had a pair of Silver Slipsteam purifiers in the analog outputs.

The power supply for the SB2 used 4 purifiers in it.

Jack Bybee lent me a power conditioner that had 6 large purifers in it and a power cable that had 6 large GOLD purifiers  :o
