Looks like they came off a 19th century locomotive.  Most speakers look like a carpenter invented them, these look like it was a plumber.  Might look really good in urban warehouse apartments.

The strength inherent to the geometry of the pipe is superior to wooden boxes and rear waves would largely be reflected away from the drivers (a sloping pipe would be even better), but the inner surfaces would probably have to be dampened.

It gives me some ideas about possibly building a single driver speaker. :o  But who am I kidding.  I got no time..........

Apparantely the idea isn't without merit.  I saw this in an ad for some Legacy Speakers

"It features Legacy's best ribbon and soft dome and now includes a special version of their KEVLAR mid-bass. This 7” cone is loaded into a PVC tube for the snappiest midrange around."

Wonder why we don't see more of the PVC tubing used in speaker design  :scratch:
