Single Driver Speakers

Hiya Guys,

Just hought I'd send out an open invitation to drop by and give the Teresonic Ingenium's a listen.

I've finally gotten them dialed in and I've done some standard Lowther tweaks (foam and cottonball). These beaut's now sound pretty darned good. Any of you that know Lowthers will find this incredible but, I've measued these and they are down 3db at 30Hz (pretty darned flat too). Sure, they are expensive (at $10k) but they are also a very cool true full range, single driver speaker that give you all of the Lowther magic and then some.

Blackmore, Bryan P and Adrian have made it by to give them a listen. Alex is coming out this afternoon and sounds like Brad M will be coming down sometime soon too.

Guessing, these will be around until the end of September. Mike at Teresonic wanted to leave them here until everybody who was interested in hearing them, got the chance (Thanks Mike!).

So, if you want to give these a listen, give me a buzz or drop me a PM.

Hey!

Scott, man! I'm sure you are having fun with them. :D

I wish I could stop by to listen to them..... sadly I can't :bawl:

I've notice them from their web site for sometime now. They look fascinating... look like something out of those surrealist paintings. They look like speaker that Savaldor Dali would have in his living room. :D

I love it when an audio component have that sculpture art design touch to it. :D

Anyway, Scott have fun! They must sound very nice with the Welborne DRD. And I'm looking forward to your review on these surreal looking pair of speaker. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Hiya Buddy!

The article should be posted in the September ETM update. These things are truely a 'statement' speaker. They're big, gorgeous, beautifly finished, and bloody expensive. But they do sound very good, better than any single driver running full range I've heard to date.

Although these sound really good with the DRD's, you should hear them with 100wpc of KT88's feeding them  :green: They come alive. Buddy, you can appreciate this one, you should hear some well mixed Techo/House/Ambient/Chillout on these things. Ooou baby!

Hey Scott,

Glad ya finally got em dialed in. Wish I could come down and give em another listen but I probably wont be able to in the next month.

Speaking of full range drivers, I picked up a pair of the limited edition Fostex FE166ES-R drivers from a fella on diyaudio. Madisound only brought like 170 pairs of these into the states and Fostex sold like 700 pairs in Japan I think, heres a link to the spec's and recommended horn cabinet.  http://www.madisound.com/pdf/fostexcabs/fe166esr.pdf

I'll give em a go in my FE166E cabs first if I can get that big friggin magnet through the hole. I'll probably end up building the recommended cabinets later so ifin ya know anyone lookin for a pair of the FE166E drivers in the recommended horn I'll probably have my up for sale sometime in the future, assuming these sound better (I'm sure they will).

I'd bet one of the local guys would like to have your old cabinets and drivers. Maybe Chris (MerRev)?

Speaking of MerRev, Hey Chris, you should make plans to stop by and hear the Teresonics. You'll get a kick out of them. :thumb:

And I thought you'd given up on high powered systems?

Scott, I'll have to sneak over there one of these weekends to hear them. I want a close up look at those cabinets too.

thanks for the invite Scott.  Alex and I heard them about 2 months ago and I have to admit they're gorgeous speakers.  I would love to hear them again though and would also really lke to get by Deadfish's to hear Willies 845 on the Altec 19's.

Nice snag Mark- looks like an impressive driver.  I've been bugging a friend of mine about the possibility of a custom paint job on a pair of single driver speakers.  He works at an auto body shop and it sounds like he does a fair amount of tricky paint jobs.   :green:
