trouble on start up
« on: 26 Aug 2006, 01:45 am »
Hi, I am the proud new owner of a 4BSST...purchased used, ser#000238, and I am having difficulty get my amp to remain on, or power up completely. Amp is plugged directly into its own outlet and I am now using the factory power cable.
The amp clipping indicators glow red slightly, then the amp shuts off, the rear breaker remains in the on position. Sidenote, my 3BST in the same outlet, same cable, works fine....
The scenerio occurs regardless of what is or is not connected the the amp, ICs etc...the real mystery is that the amp did power up at one point for whatever reason, I shut it off for a day or so, went to power on again and no go. It has been suggested that the power socket amp end is faulty..
Anyone experience this...?

HI Greg,

Make sure the switches on the back are in LOCAL not REMOTE.

Hi Greg,

Sounds like it may be the front power switch - I notice you are in Toronto area - call CAM in service at Bryston in Peterborough - 1-705-742-5325 and we will get things sorted.
