It may be all wrong But sounds best to me
« on: 19 Aug 2006, 04:21 pm »
Hello all a bunch of you chimed in when I was looking for new speakers/ sub & helped with the set up
I have tried your suggestions But my own set up sounds best for me
I have Paradigm studio 40s with a Denon 3805 AVR & a PDR8 sub
I set the subs crossover to 150 and the input volume to about %50
I now have all chanells set to
L 0
C +3
R 0
SL +2
SR+1
SUB 0
Crossover set to 150 on the denon
Front LCR set to Large
Rears small
Sub settings to LFE & Main
This give me the fullest sound and even lows in the room
It may be all wrong but seams to sound goo to me
Thanks ~
Oh yea this goes against all ruls also I have the manual EQ boosting the lows and the tone controll boosting lows & higs

Ya you have to go with what sounds good in your room. I have my fronts set to small, otherwise I have too much bass. I can listen to it like this for a week or two but then it becomes tiring with so much bass. So I leave them on small which seems to make the mid-range more noticable. My rear speakers I have set to large as this gives me enough bass along with my sub which is at less than half volume, without overpowering the  room. My sub crossover is set at 80 hz. I don't recall what my speaker volumes are set at, but everything has been calibrated with my set up disc. Using a sweep test there are no gaps in the sound spectrum, she is just smooth. My center is on a 3 mili-second delay as my listening position is only 6 ft. away. I listen in multi-channel stereo mainly and 70mm Spectacle soundfield for movies.
