JVC RX F10S help with passive sub
« on: 20 Jul 2006, 12:13 pm »
Hi all i am an newbie here.

Can the regulars help me on this question about connecting a passive sub to the RX F10S? Can i plug it in the Surround back clip terminal? RXF10 only allws for active subs?

My speakers are CRAP creatives left over. So the wattage is low, the sub is weak and all.

Will i blow something up if i connect the sub to the s-b terminal and use it as the 6th channel?

I need my bass while i hunt for better speakers. Thanks.

One more thing, i found the left side of the unit HOT!! after playing mp3 on 5.0 DD Live for 90 mins.

Is it normal?

It's quite normal for that model.  The JVC's play hot.

If you do a search of F10 under my name (TheChairGuy), you will find a ton of resources in the past couple years on Audio Circle. It's quite nice unit for the money, but it has had it's qualitative (poor construction) challenges.

It both seems to play cooler to the touch, and sounds remarkably better, on significant power conditioning  :)

Hey thanks chairguy. I sorta have an idea what to do with speakers and woofer.

But i have one more question concerning the heat of F10s. I wish to know where the internal fan is located? I cant really hear any hum or spin of a fan. I like to add a usb fan but dont want to mess up the airflow.

Any kind soul who have dismantle this amp care to tell me the location of the fan and airflow?
