Also amps known as "bright" are not a good match imo.
That would rule out Bryston, IMO.

McCormack, Channel Islands Audio, McIntosh and perhaps Odyssey Audio would be contenders in the "not bright" category. I haven't heard BAT, so I can't comment on that brand.

One last thought...H2O Audio S250. $2800. http://www.iceh2oaudio.com/model-s250.html
Not too many people are familiar with these amps, so I included the link.

If the BAT VK-500 w/ BAT-PAK is in the same vein as the VK-600SE, it certainly wouldn't be called bright.

I think you have received alot of good recommendations for quality solid-state amplifiers. I believe you should concentrate on finding an amplifier that is known to have good synergy with the VMPS speakers. If I were purchasing a new amplifier, I would make sure that my preamplifier was an open window for the amp to shine through. I would sell my integrated amplifier and purchase a dedicated preamplifier.

I can tell you that the DNA-500 works very, very well with the RM 40's.

Hello Again,

I would like to take the time to state that I have no financial interest in the Dussun products or for that matter, any audio products. I was just trying to suggest a product. I personally do not have "proof" that RRM
uses or sources from China. But I did compare websites and read some reviews that stated this. Forgive if I am wrong as I did not mean to step
on anyones toes. There seems to be a great deal of information on Audiocircle about Dussun/Korsun, Aurum Cantus and Red Rose Music. Some of the websites that I found to be helpful were. www.redrosemusic.com, www.korsun.com.cn, www.haihuang-audio.com, and www.aurumcantus.com. I found the specifications and photos to be very convincing. As always, all the best.

Peace,

China

My guess is that if you left this thread running for long enough, you might get a recommendation for almost every popular amp
