James- 3B SST Question
« on: 12 Jul 2006, 01:11 pm »
Hi James,

I'm a new owner of a Bryston 3B SST and I wanted to know if Bryston recommends turning off the amp using the switch at the back of the amp when its not being used for a long period of time.

I have a SP1.7 and the manual recommends switching the unit off using the back switch when the preamp will not be used for long periods of time.  Just wondering if the same applies to the 3B SST.

Thanks.

Hi George,

The electronics sound their best when they are on for a period of time so if your critically listening I would recommend turning on the amplifiers a few hours earlier than the listening session.

If you are leaving for holidays or extended time away we recommend turning them off at the rear power switch.

There is no issue with 'wear factor' if you wish to leave them powered at all times.

Hi James,

Thanks for the quick response.

The reason I selected Bryston equipment over your competition was your customer service.

George.
