I currently use an RM30C as the center speaker with a five year old 65" Mitsubishi RPTV, along with a pair of RM30M's. It works great placed on top of the giant TV cabinet and does not interfer with the CRT controls which are located in the bottom of the TV. I am downsizing and thought I would not have room for this great sounding Home Theater system, but it looks like we have found a house with enough room. In fact, I would have an even larger HT room. I would like to go to an even larger TV, perhaps a 70 or 72" with the latest technology, DLP, LCD or LCos. I am wondering if I could place my RM30C immediatly underneath one of these sets without having a problem with the speaker's magnetic fields interfering with the TV signal processing. I went to my local Circuit City and Best Buy to ask and got two different answers - one said no problem and the other said no way. So much for the extertise of big chain electronic stores.
I am hoping someone in this forum might have experiece with the kind of set up I am hoping to get. It sure would be great to keep the clean, accurate, articulate sound of the RM30C and the better picture quality of one of the new RPTV technologies. I was thinking of building a custom base for the TV that would place the RM30C right under the TV and the DVD, HT processor and amp underneath the speaker.
