Uhhh not double post

Here is to start you off simple... you got the special edition right?

Go into the options, display, and switch user interphase to Colums UI.

Go to the Colums UI extension, then Colums, create new called "Tracknumber" and in it's box you want " $num(%tracknumber%,2) "

Now in the global go to colors and put this in

" FFFFFF|FBFEC0|$ifequal($mod(%_playlist_number%,2),0,63380E,956711)|9B5815|
951117|300507| "

This is a start... it is up to you to make it better. I have not bothered to learn anymore, it is a PAIN. There is SOOOO much to learn.

Next are you using a SB or what?

Do you know how to rip with EAC and convert to .flac with EAC automatically? I actually do not do that. If you want to know how that is up to you.

I rip with EAC and use the file naming with this scheme " %A-%C-(%N)-%T "

Then I use DBconverter to change to 8 compression .flac. This way I can choose to rip all I want, without waiting for the converter. I just hate the rip and encode at one time situation.

I save all my stuff in one folder, then in a folder with the band name, then in a folder with the album name.

When I add them to Foobar2000 playlist I highlight all of them, right click, masstagger, edit tags, add, guess value from file name and put in " %artist%-%album%-(%tracknumber%)-%title% "

Then just click run.

Then I am done! Then I listen

Would this be a WEIRD way to do it? Sure... the folders are not weird, but my way of ripping and naming is when it can all be done automatically, I just choose not too.

Oh well, keep asking quesitons. Sorry about the big randomish post haha.

How do you convert Flac back to normal CD format? And how do you convert it to MP3 and ITunes?

add *flac* files and then decode.
as for mp3, that is not included in the front end for encode/decode options so you'll need to have a seperate encoder for mp3 or any othher format.

Yes, EAC is the way.  You want to use EAC to "rip" your CDs into the FLAC format.  EAC will invoke FLAC if you set it up right.

Going from no digital music to having EAC rip your CDs into FLAC files can be a little intimidating to set up.  It will take you a couple hours of learning in order to have EAC installed and set up correctly.  A good EAC tutorial will get you there.  But the good news is, once you've got it set up, you just have to put your CD into your computer, and come back when it's done.  Almost everything is automatic once it's set up.  :D

The EAC Quickstart Manual (first link on the page bprice2 linked to) will get you where you want to go.  If you get stuck, post again and we will help.

Check out the Live Music Archive at http://www.archive.org/details/etree.

Lots of files there in FLAC or other lossless formats (SHN is quite common).
