Can anyone comment on this combination?  I am refering specifically to the mono's tvad4 has for sale here on the board.  The Revelations need quite a bit o' juice and having never owned a pair of mono's from Klaus I'm not sure how they would fare?

I appreciate any input you folks might have.

Here are some specifics on the Rev's:

LOW FREQUENCY ATTENUATION SLOPE   12 dB per Octave below 25 Hz
LOW FREQUENCY TUNNING   Proprietary Optimized Transmission Line
PHASE RESPONSE   Less than 360° from 100 Hz - 24 kHz
GROUP DELAY RESPONSE   Less than 1 mS DELAY SHIFT from 100Hz - 20kHz
PEAK POWER HANDLING   Greater than 1,000 WATTS (10mS)
SHORT TERM MAXIMUM POWER HANDLING   600 WATTS (I.E.C. 268-5)
LONG TERM MAXIMUM POWER HANDLING   250 WATTS (I.E.C. 268-5)
SENSITIVITY   88 dB SPL @ 1-Watt @ 1-Meter
91 dB SPL @ 2.83V /1-Meter
IMPEDANCE   4-OHMS (nominal)
CROSSOVER   4th order Symmetrical, in-phase, acoustic
Linkwitz - Riley @ 600 Hz
HORIZONTAL DISPERSION   +/- 45° - 900Hz to beyond 10kHz(standard -6dB Beamwidth Limits)
VERTICAL DISPERSION   +/- 15° - 900Hz to beyond 10kHz(standard –6dB Beamwidth Limits)
MINIMUM RECOMMENDED AMPLIFIER POWER   50 WATTS RMS / Ch. (200 - 750 WRMS /Ch. preferred)
LOW FREQUENCY DRIVER   (2) - 8” Aluminum Cone w/ center Phase-Plug
HIGH FREQUENCY DRIVER   Waveguide Loaded 1” Textile Dome - Ferro-fluid Cooled
DIMENSIONS   66.75” (169.5 cm.) H X 12.5” (31.7 cm.) W X 21.0”(53.3 cm.) D

my speakers are 86db-a 3.5 way that has a massive crossover and they work great with the extreme monos-
the mono extremes can be used as welders if your in a pinch,at least thats what klaus said once-lol

what do you have for a pre?

Quite a while back I brought my mono extreme's over to Steve's (reefrus) place and we connected them up to his original timepieces. They didn't seem to have any trouble driving those and I'm pretty certain the Revalations are much easier to drive than the first iteration of the Timepiece.

Oddly enough I will be bringing one of the mono's over to a friends house today and we'll be connecting it up to his SP Continuums. It will be running in stereo mode but that should provide a good idea of how it will work with those speakers. I expect it won't have any trouble. The Continuums have the same driver complement as the Revalations I believe. I'll let you know how it works out. I may connect it up in mono mode just to see as well. Depends on how much time we have.

I just returned from Mike's (Tweekgeek) place and one of the mono extreme's (wired in stereo) had zero problems driving his SP Continuum 2.5's. We were playing the Classic records 24/96 version of Muddy Waters Folk Singer and the dynamics were, shall we say, unrestrained. Given how much better the mono's sound, I suspect you will be very happy with the amps, especially at the price.

I plan to pickup one of the following preamps in the next couple months:
Candela, Modwright or SAS Labs

if your smart-pre order a candela today-
price too performance is just stupid-
when word gets out(other owners than me) klaus will be able to raise the price without any problems-doubt he will-

the match with the extreme monos  :thumb:

just add some different tubes and be prepared to enjoy enjoy enjoy-

so far i am not fond of the stock jj tubes, brimar arent that great-but the cheap used organ tubes -hammond- sound WOW- and some 6189 off ebay are right with them-i think they are bolth ge-one pairs grey and ones black plate-
