How do you set up a room? Advice needed
« on: 6 May 2006, 08:41 pm »
I have moved into a new house and have a dedicated audio room.  It is very small room that has one window and two doors.  It is 14 by 9.5 feet and is 8 ft tall.

Nothing on the walls but the curtains, and the hardwood floors only have a Inca hand made wool rug.  The Room has been set up for Near Field listening and is set up at about 5.5 feet in the triangle.

I wanted to know what is the best way to set things up from scratch as far as room treatments go.  I have pictures and wall hangings, but nothing else for the room at this point and nothing is in place yet bare wall and all.  Any ideas on where to start?

Any sites or places i should look to get started?

How about looking through the Acoustics Circle here?

You might take a look at the Rives Audio site. I'd suggest trying to measure the frequency respone in the room to see where problems exist first.
