Nevermind, I think I've answered my own question. It appears to be a playback problem using MediaMonkey. Listening to the same album under foobar gives a seamless transistion between tracks. I have one album that gives me a problem under SB, but I think that's because of mistakes made by the person who ripped it for me (dang audio copy protection).
