New chip for GK-1R is a big improvement

For those with the GK-1R, the new source selector chip (mute, HT, etc.) makes a huge improvement in functionality and user-friendliness.

On power-up, the GK-1R now mutes for a few seconds, and then defaults to the source of your choice.  The HT bypass only functions (and can only be activated) if the Aux source is selected.  So, connect your HT processor to the GK-1 Aux input and life is sweet.

Before this change, I had disabled the HT bypass to avoid firing my tweeters into the neighbor's house if someone should hit the HT bypass by mistake.  Now that risk is gone, and the system works extremely well.

Ah, but Martin,

It is available!!  It's a ready made product called the AKSA Swift Preamplifier!

Peter,

Thank you for the praise!  All Ben's work -  thanks Ben!

Cheers,

Hugh

I had a quick browse and couldnt find the cost for the new prom.

any one/two word answers for how much and for delivery?

cheers

Nick.

PS: Love my SB3/55N/GK1-R, now i need a big room to be able to crank things up, also want to have a play with some CSS FR125s drivers in an open baffle for some fun to see what all the fuss is about, then might try them in a 3way (speaker that is...).

Will update the site today;  my apologies.
