Hi Guys,

I just wondered if anyone had had any experience using a Patek amp with a pair of Merlin VSM-MM's?

Would this pairing be a good match?

Thanks,
Steve

You should read the Stereophile review, I can't belive I said that.  See link below
http://www.stereophile.com/loudspeakerreviews/439/index.html
The review appears to be accurate and not full of BS and the measurements
put the efficiency at 88.5dB. The measurements also show a benign impedance curve which should not upset the Patek amp. Gain clones cannot deliver current into complex low impedance loads, they heat up and the thermal protection on the IC comes into play. However if you do manage to blowup one of  them you are only out about 5 dollars to replace the IC which is the amp.  If you can get the Merlins  for a good price used they might be worth a try.
