Thanks xsparky. I have owned the C2200 and MC402 from McIntosh for 6-7 months now and used them with Dynaudio C1 monitor speaker. Thought the bass was quite shy though the mids and high were natural and musical for most genres. I just could not live with the bass shyness so I went so far as to add a Velodyne DD-12 sub which was superb. But...I always wanted a medium floorstander or studio monitor with good bass. The coin toss was up to deciding b/w the OB1's or the IB1's. I spoke extensively with my local dealer and we are giving PMC IB1's a try. I have heard that the McIntosh/PMC combo is superb and I'm tiring of the upgrade path. Just want to enjoy my HT and 2 channel listening and viewing.
