So...What do you call your " System"?

"Audio Gear" is generally what I refer to the collection of kit that I own - as in - "let's go listen to the audio gear in the basement" etc.

A "system" just sounds so well conceived to me!

Toys.

My wife calls them my toys. So toys they are. Wisemen know not to argue with their wives, especially when she's cool with my having any number of toys in the room.

My wife calls my system my "mistress", but concedes that she always knows where I am late at night. My speakers are Magnepan 3.6s and I sometimes refer to them as my "headphones" to play on the irony of their large size, the small sweet spot they project, and the expectations and personal tasstes from guests that hear them.

I call it my "space heater"!

Seriously, during the summer I have to turn my ceiling fan on high and cranck the AC way down in order to listen to it...all those triodes and pentotes really heat up the room (feels great in the winter, though).
