It seems that I'll be using rectangular traps for the corners of my 12'w x 17'l x 9'h room.
This gives me flexibility in placement where I can straddle the corners or put them flush against the corner where there is a door in the way.
A few more questions:
Seeing as higher density is better for bass absorbtion, but will reflect more mid to upper frequencies I was wondering...
Put 6lb density towards room and 8lb density behind it. Assuming 3" material with a pannel total depth of 12", having 6" of 6lb and 6" of 8lb sandwiched together in a floor to ceiling pannel. Would this be better than straight 6lb material for bass absorbtion?
Also, I see where it is recommended to use a faced pannel towards the room, and any others sandwiched behind it being unfaced. This is supposed to increase bass absorbtion, while reducing mid to higher feq. absorbtion.
Would this be good to do?
3" 6lb faced (into room) + 3" 6lb unfaced + 6" 8lb unfaced
or would you stick to using all unfaced?
