Just about ready!

Ok, tomorrow is the day. My kef Cresta 2 speakers should be here (Audiogon specials for the time being). I am going to hook them up to my Teac A L700P (stock from Vinnie)  and into my Chaintech AV-710 sound card. I purchased some Monster XP cable. I am going to Bi-wire the speakers. I have a rca to mini-stero jack (I think thats what it called :?) to go between my amp and the sound card. Am I missing anything? Is there anything else I should get before I fire it up? (and another system is not an option at this point! Wife is expecting and she has been very patient to this point. :!:)

Thanks!

Well, they are here already! So, I got to go slap some RAM in to a friends computer and then I am going to hook this thing up. These speakers are really good looking speakers. I hope they sound half as good as they look!

well, I went ahead and hooked her up. These Cresta2's are well reviewwd in just about every review I read. In fact, only one was mostly negative... the speaker is like six or so years old and the reviews are still easy to come by, even though they are discontinued. I am not sure if it is because they are made by such a large company or not.

Anyway, I hooked them up, bi-wired, or so I thought. They sounded really good, to me... but the more I thought about it, the more I began to realize that I really had not bi-wired these speakers afterall. I had left the spacers in.... Ok, so I am not the smartest. I went back and removed those, and these already good sounding speakers sound even more awesome. I would have never guessed that there would be that much difference between single and dual wired speakers....

Anyway, I am happy. Thanks to those here that gave me advice and for those who informed me of the Teac for sale!

PS: do you know that you can make some killer ghetto speaker stands with five foot of four inch pvc, 4 toilet flanges, and two 1x10x10 pieces of wood? Add 50lb of play sand from Lowes and  you have 2 quite sturdy stands that you can paint or whatever you want too. Not bad for a bedroom or somewhere out of the main living area, where guest might be... at least, I have not heard my wife complain yet.
