Anyone tried this DAC from Diyaudiocraft

Hi,

Has anyone purchased or heard this 1541A DAC with tube buffer from Diyaudiocraft.com http://www.diyaudiocraft.com/ select product in the top menu then select kit / TDA1541A-V2 in the left hand drop down menu. He goes by the handle tube-lover on diyaudio.com and is located in Hong Kong.

I'm thinking about getting one of these to go with my CD-PRO2M transport, any thoughts, comments, other recommendations.

Mark

I think this might be the one Julien (JM) has.

Yep, that's it. Have you listened to it? Have you compared it to any others?

Hello Mark.
I bought this kit last year and have been very happy with it. It is an excellent value. But it can use some tweaks and upgrades.
I've done many and each time it sounds a bit better. I think the main problem is to make sure the s/pdif path is as simple and pure as possible.
There are two re-clock circuits on separate PCB's. But I'm still waiting for my TCXO to be able to finish the re-clock. Thomas is a bit slow to send parts. The kit is not perfect and will need some patience and experience from the owner, it is kind of a work in progress. Thomas is always trying to improve on the parts and circuit. But I think it's a great value, it is much better than the Audio Note kit I use to have a few years ago and the Apogee MiniDAC I had after that.
Hope that helps,
