Yes, that was a complimentary article!  However, there are  a couple of points I disgree with.  First that the PSB M2s look better than the XLs.  I think the XLs look waaaay better.  Also, I am really glad that a highly resolving etched top end was traded for smoothness.  It always makes me laugh when people comment about how their speakers are so transparent that the vast majority of recordings sound harsh.  While I am the first to agree that a large number of recordings are mixed for car systems and boom boxes, ultimately if the majority sound awful, it defeats the purpose.  I would rather have the bulk of my recordings listenable!  Also did you guys notice that Doug Schneider recommends placement with the tweeters towards the inside edge, different from what the manual states?

Boy, these are good speakers!

Thanks, and I happen to agree with you, (surprise, surprise

Don't be too hard on Doug about the tweeter placement, we shipped him the XLs a LONG time ago, I don't think we even had manuals ready at that time.

Patience :) Did you see Frank Van Alstine's comments on the XL? FRANKLY, I think they should count as a review. I believe Frank has been in this business for even longer than me! With the great electronics Frank builds, he must have darn good ears.

Back to your question:
- A pair of XLs has been in the hands of a reviewer for I about a month now. He has indicated to me that he is going to do a multi-part review, and the first part may publish as soon as January. He has also talked me into sending a pair of Force subs so he can do a review of the four piece combo as a full-range system. It will likely be a few months for that to publish as we can't even get the review samples to him for quite some time.
- A number of reviewers have requested XLs. I don't have enough to send to everyone who wants them. I will be meeting with some of these folks at CES and we'll see what we can do.
There, are you satisfied?   And Happy New Year! I'm going for a run . . .

As an update:

At CES a number of reviewers requested review samples of the XLs.  We will soon decide who and when . . .  we only have so many review samples available currently.
