Hi NB,

I forgot to mention it would be appreciated if each audition request listed their system components. Shipping insurance is required and DHL is preferred. Also, a deposit is required. Thanks. :)

Steve neglected to say that the 10A is currently in my hands, and I'm not sure if I can let it go. Send your bribes directly to me.

Just kidding. I'll have it ready to ship, but it truely will be hard to give up. I'm am looking forward to hearing the impressions of others.

Hi Guys,

I had a phone conversaion last night and came up with the idea of accompanying the B10A with two pairs of "V" 1 meter ICs. There would be no deposit or shipping costs for the ICs, as they would be boxed with the B10A, so it is free.  :)

Nice touch Steve.

Now if I could just get you to build a balanced version...

Hey Mike, how's it going?

After selling my Dynaudio Special 25's to help fill a funding void after my wife wife bought a bunch of new furniture   I replaced them with a pair of ProAc Response 2.5, which work very nicely with my ARC and Steve's 10A.

Steve, your cables are so good, I was wondering if you might start a separate audition tour for just the cables with two pairs.

Hi Jerry,

I thought about that, and am including two pairs of "V" 1 meter ICs with the upgraded 10A going on tour.

I  even have two pairs of 1.5 meter ICs made up, but they are blemished models. If anyone wishes to try them, they sound great, but are blemished. No charge.

I may start another tour with just the ICs. Got to get caught up and get an extra couple of sets made.  :)

Thanks for the good suggestion Jerry. I am thinking of a couple of weeks or so.

Steve

Jerry, you SOLD the Special 25's!!  WOW, I thought those were a fixture!  Musta been one HELLUVA furniture shopping trip!

Before this all kicks off maybe we should get together and give a listen to the SAS, I could bring the Ultraverve or we could work something out at my place...

And, if you like the 2.5's you should really hear the Lor's!  Similar (same ?) driver compliment.  Yummy!

I agree, Brian, the Loreleis look like my kind of speaker - a simple 2 way floorstander, which always seem to make the best music to me. We will have to get together soon, but I will be in AZ mid January for a week. I just got the RAW HT-3's, which also look promising, but haven't opened the boxes yet.

Dear Touring Gents,

It has been brought to my attention that I need to emphasize some points. Touring participants may want to print out these points.

1) The 10A needs 30 minutes to warm up. The sound will change somewhat, to drastic. So this is important.

2) The 3 position switch (near the output jacks) is really far more than a bright, neutral, dark switch, affecting far more than just the tonality. Please make sure you audition the preamp in all the positions.

3) Turn off the preamp and wait at least 4 minutes before "flipping" the tonal switch.

4) Be sure to try the AC polarity switch (near the fuseholder) in both directions. This can be done on the "fly" and it is possible the mute function will activate. Just wait 45 seconds to 1 minute for the mute to cycle.

Please don't be afraid to experiment with these switches.

Also keep the dotted ends of each IC together. Try reversing the ICs for the best sound.

Thanks, again, for the participants who signed up.  :)
