ok..so i've heard plenty about what a big improvement clean AC makes to ones system.
wow.  does it ever!

I picked up a monster sth3500mk2 conditioner online (brand new) for a real steal (they are out there for as little as $145 shipped).
I also made myself some AC cables (hubble plugs, silver plated OFC millspec copper cable) for my two componants.
holy shit!  HUGE improvement w/the audio and video action.  I did a before/after with one of my favorite refference discs (dylan, time out of mind).  wicked improvement in the noisefloor.  not that I could detect one prior, but its just dead quiet now.  sounds just materialize.  Imaging , bass responce, everything just got "better".  Not just a little better where you have to convince yourself that there is improvement.
Video...whoa.  its like my TV just got a shot of sterioids.  the picture is so much more vivid.  amazing.

I live way out in the woods.  i'm one of two houses off of the transformer.  my living room is one circuit that the stereo shares w/a few lights.  I figured my power was cleaner than average to start with.

this is not a plug for Monster products.  i'm sure any decent conditioner would have done the same.

if you've been on the fence about your AC and weather or not to throw some money at it.  dont waste any more time.  do it.  you'll be pleased.
I'm ranting because i'm so impressed with this tweak.

my system:
Toshiba SD9200 DVD-V/A (redbook as well) >
Apogee wide eye coax S/PDIF cable / Gregg Stralley ICs >
Sony STR-DA3000ES (all DSP defeated and run in straight 2chan mode) >
Gregg Stralley speaker cables (two pair in a shotgun config) >
Von Schweikert VR4 genI
23x17x7 listening space.
oh...and the monster sth3500mk2 w/DIY AC cables.
