CDWG and Multi Channel / HT

Has anyone heard this with 5 or more channels? Everything I've read has focused on stereo. Just curious if this would be a worth while improvement for surround speakers.

I would think Constant Directivity would be a huge benefit for HT and multichannel, since the off-axis sound is so much more linear.  Will try it and report back!

This will be the avenue that I will be trying this out after CES. Brian offered me the CDWG but he is so busy with CES etc I felt he should take care of customers first.....now I am kicking myself!!!

I think that Brian is correct and the "theory" of the CDWG should be a huge imrprovment in the Home Theater domain.

Can't wait to try it out......

In another forum we have coined the term "Cinematic Audiophile" :D

I hope that everyone is having a great New Year's.

Hi Derek,

Yes, I think the potential gains from CDWG are the same if not greater for HT and Multichannel Audio.

Basic reason being, that the chances of sitting out of the sweet spot are greater with more listeners, and HT is many times enjoyed by more than one.

Additionally, the aspect of greater dispersion is more valuable to HT in creating a soundfield when sitting off center.

Also for those using the RM30 "horizontally" as a CENTER, the improvement is stupendous.  Both horizontally and vertically the soundfeild is engulfing.

Great! Just when I think my system is there.. it's not

Okay I'm gonna bite as soon as the RM30 / RM2 WG's are available. Sure does sound good on paper.

John, you make a great arguement to trade my LRC for a RM30 horizontal (you know I've been thinking of this for awhile)
