The final mod to the Kenwood KT-7500?
« on: 3 Jan 2006, 01:23 am »
We now give proper credit to our ain't it fun guy Ray for his most excellent passive de-emphasis mod to my beloved Kenwood KT-7500. IMO, this has taken this tuner to a very high level on the ever growing stack-o-tuners. Can it get any better? Well... Bob and maybe Ray have plans for an outboard... well, we shall see and hear about that when it's available. For now go to the bottom of the KT-7500 mod sheet and read Ray's mods. "Ray's Passive EQ Mod " There are links to photos there to. The photos are of my (last?) KT-7500. OK, I cheated a bit and added Holco resistors along the audio path. But only the anal among you need to go that extra mile.

Can you let me know what this new mod entails? I will be sending my modded Kt 7500 to Radio X for alignment and maybe I should have this done too. The sound quality now actually sounds better than some cd's so I wonder how much of an improvement can be gained with this extra mod.
