DAMN YOU UPS!!!

Oh, and I have stopped dealing with companies that only use UPS for shipping if I have any other way to get the same thing from someone else that doesn't use UPS.

Thankfully most places don't use DHL, so I don't have to worry too much about dealing with them ever again...

but I have had mostly good relationship with UPS. Having a personal relationship helps. Still, I always insure and double box.

I too have a great relationship with the local UPS driver. Sadly, he only handles the package for about 3 miles of it's journey. If it was handled this well throughout the entire trip, I would have no problems but this obviously is not the case.

It really doesn't matter who you pick these days. You have to overpack your delicate products and choose the lesser of all evils.

I think BAX may be the better way to go for larger speakers and all the Hurricane amplifiers that ship out of here.

In a previous life I had some really good stuff from Wavelength shipped to me.  Gordon Rankin used Airborne and they were fantastic.

I refuse to buy from people who use UPS any more if I can help it.  first the guy never bothers to ring my bell when he comes.  Then the package is often delivered in bad shape.  I had a turntable delivered to me and when the guy brought it up he had the table turned sideways and the box was crushed.  He expected me to sign for it and take it.  We had words,  many many nasty words.  I got totally reimbursed for that one.

Fedex usually does pretty well in what I get from them.  Never had any problems.

A dealer friend in California swears by DHL as being the best.  I don't think I have ever received anything by DHL so i can't really say.  His reasoning is that they don't use conveyor belts.  he also always sends by ground so that may be the difference from the other guy and his DHL experiences.

I also do well when it comes by USPS.  Never had a problem with them but of course there is the problem of small packages or light ones.  Can't ship anything too heavy.

i read somewhere that if you get the ups store to box your item, ups will pay because they can't use the excuse of poor packaging since their agent packed the item.

why are there no outside insurers so you don't have to deal with ups on claims?

can you go to small claims court when they give you the run-around?
