I have decided to replace the Dynaudio Contour 1.1 monitors I have had for the past few years. I like them, but I want to give something else a shot.
I am intrigued by the Rocket RS750 and the Odyssey Nightingales. I would be buying used as that is what I always do.
Here is a little background. This will be dual use 2.1-channel music/HT and probably multichannel in the future. I have a small-medium size room. I enjoy all kinds of music with an emphasis on prog rock and jazz. Here is my current system:
Pioneer DV45a
Sonic Frontiers Line 1 (upgraded tubes)
PS Audio HCA-2
Dynaudio Contour 1.1 (obviously these will be replaced)
ACI Force Subwoofer
I recently picked up a Sony HDTV and the system is now seeing a pretty even music/movie mix. Before it is 95% music. I would rather it sound good for music at the expense of movies though.
What would you guys suggest? RS750s or Nightingale or something else in that used price range?
I used to have a Odyssey Stratos and I might go back to one of those, but I haven't decided. I like to make one change at a time.
Thanks in advance to all advice-
Max
