Received an extended warranty offer in the mail for my SACD 1000 from Philips today. Somehow I don't think they would be happy about a modified player.

The offer does include some good humor:
"Quick access to genuine replacement parts - directly from the manufacturer."
It goes on to say that
"... you never have to worry that inferior replacement parts will be used on your product - or that you'll need to wait unnecessarily for some component on "back order." Our servicers maintain a large inventory of genuine replacement parts that are built to last.."
I find this amusing since they seem to be replacing the '1000's instead of repairing them. Of course the warranty offer does say they will replace it if they can't fix it.
